The Challenge

Covid-19 had an impact on all industries, including the real-estate industry. Based in Mauritius, whose borders remained closed for almost a year, iKeys growth was threatened. Clients were no more able to fly in and out of the island to find their next real-estate investments. Creative solutions had to be found to support the international vision of the company.

My Mission

The first element to tackle in order to support iKeys vision was their website, a key component that would trigger their growth beyond borders.

"A website is like a window to the brand's soul"

A website is a perfect reflection of a brand's strengths and of its values. But also, a website demonstrates if a brand is ready to scale.

1st Phase

I was initially hired by iKeys to revamp their wordpress website and migrate their content to a CMS that was more flexible, more scalable and more user-friendly.

Indeed, the existing iKeys website was very slow, resulting to high bounce rates and featured a design that did not reflect their brand values. Using WordPress as a CMS could not support the amount of listings they had nor the flexibility they desired.

Therefore, we decided to rebuild the website from scratch using essentially ReactJS, GatbyJS and TailwindCSS for a better performance. We also switched to DatoCMS to increase our design and structural flexibility and make it easier for the team to manage the website content.

After launching their new website, iKeys decided to hire me as a full time marketing consultant to help structure operations, consolidate their brand image across channels and launch paid ads to generate new leads.

2nd Phase

The second phase of my mission included getting the brand ready to grow internationally. I reworked the branding guidelines to make sure its image remained cohesive across the brand's different touch points.

And to go beyond covid-19 restrictions, we initiated partnerships with key luxury real-estate agencies in the hopes of broadening our offerings to highly coveted markets such as Miami, Dubai and London.

Brand awareness was an important factor when partnering with other agencies which is why I helped on building a solid marketing strategy across all our channels. From YouTube videos, Social media, to weekly Newsletters, I was in charge of developing an effective content strategy to broaden our reach.

Last but not least, I also tested and launched paid ads mostly on Google and Facebook to generate qualified leads for our exclusive listings.

The bottom-line

This was a 360 project tapping into my background in strategic marketing as well as my new-found passion for front-end development.
